Historically, wastewater treatment facilities have used caustic soda or hydrated lime products in the treatment process to neutralize the acidity and provide the necessary alkalinity for the biological systems to maintain proper ammonia removal.


However, there has been a shift towards the use of MAGNESIUM HYDROXIDE as a safer alternative for the necessary pH and alkalinity support with increased efficiency.   Non-hazardous and non-corrosive, Mg(OH)2 has proven to produce less sludge while providing more alkalinity on an equal weight basis as compared to the alternatives.
