• Magnesium hydroxide acts as a natural fire retardant—its unique endothermic decomposition postpones ignition, releasing water that dilutes combustible gasses while suppressing oxygen at the same time.

• Mg(OH)2 aids in the production of other magnesium compounds

​

• Magnesium hydroxide provides essential elemental magnesium when manufactured as a dietary supplement or in animal feed.

• When prescribed by a medical professional or when under their care, magnesium hydroxide can be used as an effective antacid and/or laxative.
