Zinc Metal is a lustrous metallic element that is brittle at room temperature. It has a bluish white color and is malleable when heated. This metal was first produced in large scale quantities in the 13th century primarily in India. Europe was unaware of the metal until the 16th century. Zinc Metal is produced using extractive metallurgy. Sheets of Zinc Metal serve as the casing for zinc-carbon batteries and act as its anodes as well.
