Copper Sulfate

Copper Sulfate is used in everything from Crop Treatment to leather treatment to Pesticide mixtures and is probably most famous for it’s use in fireworks and pyrotechnics. 


Product Definition

Copper Sulfate (CuSO4·5H2O) is a crystalline salt that is soluble in water. It is also slightly soluble in alcohol. In its anhydrous form, Copper Sulfate has a white color. In its hydrous form it is blue and is often referred to as blue vitriol. Copper Sulfate is produced industrially by treating copper metal or its oxides with sulfuric acid. For pyrotechnics it is used to create blue fireworks. It can also be used in agriculture for treatment of crops because it is a known fungicide, herbicide, and pesticide. It is also used for treating leather and dyeing textiles.
